When I say "jump"...

I've been taking some jumping lessons from my friend Carol. Here's Jack going over a jump that is about 26" high. He's really taken to it, especially since this picture was taken on the third time he'd ever seen a jump. He's the kind of pony that gets bored easily, so I'm shakin it up for him =) Gotta keep 'em guessing. I have decided to change his name to "Jumpin' Jack Flash". LOL

...you say, "how high?"

This is how high the jump measures up. About thigh-high for me!

You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours

Tiny and Mr. Sparkles enjoy the benefits of horse-hood. They take some time out to scratch the itchy spots. They say "'tis better than riches to scratch where it itches".

Mr. Nosey

Tiny is getting to be quite the "curious George" which is great. I would much rather that to being afraid of everything. He's starting to show his personality, and it's a very typical sweet-natured Belgian one. He has one rather annoying habit that drives us crazy. He likes to rub his butt on the panels and he ends up moving the pens around our opening the gates when they don't get latched properly. Minor compared to some habits... I'm sure I'll get over it. lol

Mama's Little Darlings

Britches and Tiny are nearly inseparable. He still follows her everywhere. They are both growing so fast. I just love this picture of the two of them.

Comin' home

The Sheriff Posse has had a "play-day" for the past 3 years now. This last year, Bandit and I won all the events in our age group, galloping away with the all-around award. Here we are rounding the last barrel in our barrel pattern which he ran in 19.45 seconds. Not too shabby for a 22 year old horse. I am very proud of him.

The dynamic duo

Brian has been riding Streaky a lot this spring/summer. He's really coming along well. He did great on our Bogus ride. Behind Brian is our friend Julie on Jack and her daughter on Poophead.

Some of the scenery we enjoyed on Memorial Day. =)

Memorial Day ride at Bogus Basin

Some friends took us up to Bogus Basin on Memorial day weekend for a lovely day of trail riding. The scenery was beautiful and the sun was out. It was a bit chilly though. In spite of the chill, Brian and I had a wonderful day.
